The committee was officially inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, during a ceremony held at the SSG’s Conference Hall in Minna.
Made up of seasoned professionals, key stakeholders, and government officials, the committee is charged with the responsibility of crafting and executing strategic policies aimed at improving livestock management, enhancing animal health systems, and fostering sustainable agricultural practices across the state
Speaking at the event, Alhaji Usman reaffirmed the state government’s strong resolve to drive agricultural transformation and long-term development. He urged committee members to bring their expertise, dedication, and service-driven mindset to bear in shaping a more productive and resilient livestock sector.
“The current administration, led by our visionary Farmer Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, is fully committed to this initiative, ensuring it receives the necessary policy support, financial resources, and active stakeholder collaboration,” the SSG remarked.
He further noted that the committee’s objectives align with Niger State’s broader vision of economic diversification, job creation, and ensuring food security for its citizens.
