Burna Boy Dismisses ‘Armpit Voodoo’ Claims

Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has laughed off widespread claims that he refuses to shave his armpits because they are the secret source of his success.

Over the years, several viral photos of the Grammy winner’s unshaven armpits have fueled speculations online, with some suggesting it was tied to voodoo practices.

Speaking in a recent interview with Apple Music, Burna Boy said the idea is not only false but outright ridiculous.

When asked about common misconceptions people have about him, he responded:

“One is that I don’t like to shave my armpits. People think it’s like Samson in the Bible, that my power is in my hair. Some even say my armpits are where my power is because I don’t shave. In Nigeria, you hear crazy things. They even claim it’s voodoo. Honestly, it’s just dumb sh*t.”

The singer added that he once tried to investigate if such beliefs had any basis at all but found them completely baseless.
