Mohbad’s son: Court orders DNA verification
A Magistrate Court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, has ordered DNA testing on Liam Aloba, the two-year-old son of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
The ruling, delivered on Tuesday by Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga, followed an application filed by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba.
In the suit, Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, was named as the respondent. During the hearing, Joseph Aloba’s lawyer, Augustine Adegbemi, moved the application, while Omowunmi’s counsel, Kabir Akingbolu, did not oppose it.

Magistrate Sonuga directed that two separate DNA tests be conducted—one in Nigeria and the other abroad. Both are to be carried out in accredited hospitals, with representatives from each side present during sample collection to ensure transparency.
The matter was subsequently adjourned to November 11 for further proceedings.
