Terry G vows never to quit music

Veteran Afrobeats star Gabriel Oche Amanyi, better known as Terry G, has boldly declared that he has no plans to ever retire from music.

The 39-year-old singer, responding to critics who accused him of chasing clout online, said he would rather be considered an “up-and-coming artist” than step away from the industry.

Taking to his X handle, Terry G wrote: “I fully embrace being seen as an upcoming artist. You only become a legend when you retire — and I’m never retiring. So if you catch me chasing clout, let me be.”

Terry G rose to prominence in the 2010s as the face of the “Street-hop” movement, dropping hits like Free Madness, Sangalo, Akpako Master, and Run Mad.

Now, he is eyeing a comeback, teaming up with rising star Victony on a new track titled Tanko.
