Acting Can’t Buy G-Wagon – Yemi Solade

Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has stated that none of his female colleagues in the industry can afford to purchase a Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G-Wagon) solely from acting.

Speaking on the Honest Bunch podcast, Solade argued that Nollywood does not generate the kind of income that can sustain such extravagant purchases.

“It is possible from producing but not from acting, except they have a side hustle, because how much are they going to pay you for acting—₦50 million?” he asked.

The actor further suggested that some of the luxury cars attributed to actresses may have been given to them as gifts. “Then again, some are gifts, I want to believe so. Yes now, dem fit gift person G-Wagon,” he added.

Solade, who recently made headlines for saying his life improved after he stopped attending church, has been vocal about issues within the Nigerian film industry.
