Why I had BBL surgery – Uche Ogbodo

Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has opened up on her decision to undergo body enhancement surgery, saying it was driven by struggles with body image after childbirth.

Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, the mother of three revealed that while she had always been naturally busty, her figure after having children affected her confidence.

She disclosed that following the birth of her third child, she was unhappy with her body and chose surgery to prioritize her mental and emotional well-being.

“I didn’t have an hourglass shape, and starting to have babies didn’t help matters. I didn’t like what I saw when I looked at myself after my third child. I felt I owed it to myself to be happy and confident.

“The surgery wasn’t for anyone else but for me — for my mental health, to feel good, okay, and enough. I am enough competition for myself,” Ogbodo explained.

The actress added that she decided to be transparent about her transformation because honesty is important, especially for public figures.

“In this country, people, especially celebrities, are often not honest. Many undergo procedures, disappear, and then return with new bodies without admitting it. Why hide it when you can inspire other women with your story?” she asked.

According to her, openness is part of her mission to encourage women battling self-esteem issues, using her personal experiences to build confidence and hope.
