Rema Named to 2025 TIME100 Next List
Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, has been named in the 2025 TIME100 Next list, which celebrates the world’s most influential emerging leaders and talents.
The list, released on Tuesday, features figures across industries including entertainment, sports, science, politics, and philanthropy. Rema is the only African artist recognised this year.
His profile was penned by legendary Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo, who hailed his meteoric rise and global impact.

“The young Nigerian superstar has accomplished so much: Calm Down has joined the billion-streams club twice over,” Kidjo wrote.

Other global names on the list include Teyana Taylor and GloRilla, highlighting Rema’s place among the most promising and influential talents shaping the future.
