Ebenezer Obey Urges Graduates to Drive Positive Change
Music legend Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi has called on Nigerian students to channel their knowledge and skills toward inspiring positive change and contributing to national development.
Obey-Fabiyi made the appeal on Saturday during the signing-out ceremony of 79 students from the sixth graduating set of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, held at the Ebenezer Obey Music and Life Skills Institute, Abeokuta Centre.
He encouraged the graduates to uphold values of discipline, hard work, and service to humanity, noting that the institute was established to empower young people and give back to society through education and moral development.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Lateef Mustapha, Director of the Centre for Part-Time and Professional Studies, Al-Hikmah University, described the graduation as a celebration of resilience, creativity, and lifelong learning. He emphasized that education must go beyond classroom teaching to include moral discipline, entrepreneurship, and community service.
“Real success is not measured by grades, but by the positive impact you make in society,” Mustapha reminded the graduates.
In his goodwill message, Professor Sabiru Adesanya, former Vice-Chancellor of Olabisi Onabanjo University, praised the institute for its contributions to human capacity development and urged the graduates to remain worthy ambassadors of the institution.
Earlier, the institute’s director, Mr. Adekunle Durosinmi, described the ceremony as a milestone in the institute’s steady journey toward excellence, highlighting the growing confidence in its programmes, which blend moral values with skill-based education.
