Ghana’s Moliy Throws Shade at Zinoleesky
Nigerian rapper Zinoleesky and Ghanaian singer Moliy engaged in a heated social media war on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, after Moliy dismissed rumours of an upcoming collaboration between the two in a condescending manner.
The drama began when Moliy quote-retweeted a flyer promoting the supposed collaboration with a curt response:
“Who?”
Her remark, which implied that she didn’t know Zinoleesky, did not sit well with the Nigerian artist. Zinoleesky quickly fired back, mocking Moliy’s musical success.
“2 hits wonder… and I don’t even know the 2nd song @Moliymusic,” he tweeted.
Moliy responded with equal fire, saying she was “grateful not to be known” by him, and threw shade at Nigerian artists she described as “local champions.”

“Very grateful to not be known by you, artists that know me aren’t local champions,” she wrote.
The exchange quickly drew attention online, with Zinoleesky’s fans in Nigeria threatening to cancel Moliy in the country.
While Zinoleesky dominates the Nigerian street-pop scene, Moliy has gained significant traction internationally. She has secured two Official Charts entries in the UK and two Billboard Hot 100 entries in the US. Her song “Shake It To The Max Remix” currently sits at number one on the US Billboard Afrobeats Chart.
