Actress Lolo: I’d Pick Co-Wife Over Side Chick

Nollywood actress and on-air personality Omotunde Adebowale-David, widely known as Lolo 1, has shared her candid views on polygamy, saying she considers it preferable to men keeping secret lovers.

Speaking during a recent podcast conversation with fellow actress Bimbo Akintola, Lolo 1 emphasized that openness and fairness should form the foundation of romantic relationships.

“I would prefer a man to be openly polygamous than to be married and keep a side chick,” she stated. “That’s the situation I cannot accept.”

She explained that, in her view, polygamy at least offers a level of fairness among wives, unlike the “side-chick culture,” which often involves deceit and lack of accountability.

Bimbo Akintola, adding her perspective, traced the rise of “side-chick culture” to societal expectations that push men to marry women deemed “wife material” rather than those they genuinely love. She stressed the importance of honesty and transparency in building healthy and lasting relationships.
