Adekunle Gold: I Can Fail in Music, Not as a Dad or Husband
Nigerian music star Adekunle Gold has opened up about the importance of family in his life, making it clear that his wife, Simi, and their daughter, Adejare, are his top priority.
Speaking on a recent episode of the NotJustOk Podcast, the “Orente” crooner shared that, for him, being a good husband and father outweighs every other achievement — even his music career.
He explained that one of his biggest goals is to give his daughter a life far better than the one he experienced growing up. According to him, this commitment to fatherhood inspired his heartfelt track, “My Love Is The Same.”

“All I want is to do more for my daughter. I can’t bring her into the kind of life I had — it has to be better. That’s why I work so hard,” Adekunle Gold said.
He further stressed, “My family is my core. I don’t joke with them. I can afford to be a failed musician, but I can’t afford to be a failed father or husband. That’s not negotiable.”
