Backlash trails Kola’s viral talk with Dede, family threatens action
Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Kola Omotoso, has come under intense criticism following a late-night conversation with fellow housemate Dede on Friday, which quickly went viral and sparked heated debate online.
The clip, widely circulated on social media, showed the duo in what appeared to be a casual discussion. However, many viewers interpreted Kola’s approach as inappropriate, accusing him of crossing personal boundaries.
The backlash saw Kola branded with harsh labels such as “simp,” “predator,” and “rapist” by some sections of the online community.
Reacting to the controversy, Kola’s family and management team issued a strongly worded statement via his official X account on Saturday.

They dismissed the allegations as false and damaging, insisting that Kola has always conducted himself respectfully in the house, particularly towards women.
“We want to categorically state that the defamatory narratives being spread about Kola are false, malicious, and dangerous. Kola has never at any point violated the rules of the show or disrespected his fellow housemates.
We urge the public to desist from spreading defamatory remarks. Failure to comply will leave us with no choice but to pursue legal action,” the statement read.
The management further warned that legal steps would be taken against individuals or platforms found guilty of spreading damaging lies about Kola’s character.
