Blaqbonez Says Relationship with Dad Is Stronger Than Ever
Popular Nigerian rapper, Emeka Akumefule, better known as Blaqbonez, has revealed that his relationship with his estranged father has greatly improved after years of separation.
The rapper reunited with his father in January 2025, nearly a year after disclosing that his dad had abandoned him and his mother at birth before relocating to Germany, where he later started a new family.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Perspective Podcast, Blaqbonez said his bond with his father has grown stronger since their reunion.
“My relationship with my dad is getting stronger and stronger. We are talking more than ever before. It is better than it has ever been,” he said.
Responding to a question from the host, the rapper clarified that his father’s decision to reconnect with him was not influenced by his fame.

“He doesn’t live in Nigeria and doesn’t really realise how big of a star I am,” Blaqbonez explained.
The Haba crooner also recently met his German step-siblings for the first time earlier this year, marking a new phase in his family’s reconciliation journey.
