Burna Boy Says Music Kept Him Off Dark Path
Nigerian Grammy award-winning artist, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has made a startling revelation about what his life might have looked like if he had not become a musician.
In a conversation with a fan, Burna Boy said he could have ended up in drastically different roles—ranging from a suicide bomber to an oil thief or even a prostitute. He added that other possibilities might have included becoming a basketball player or a fraudster, noting that music ultimately gave him direction and purpose.

Meanwhile, Burna Boy continues to make history on the international stage. His latest collaboration with American rapper Gunna, titled “WGFT” from Gunna’s new album The Last Wun, debuted at number 96 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week.
The entry brings his total Billboard Hot 100 appearances to seven, making him the African artist with the most entries in the chart’s history. Burna Boy has also set another record as the first African artist to debut a track on the Billboard Hot 100 for five consecutive years (2021–2025).
