Comedian Sanku Comedy dies in car crash

Nigerian skit maker and content creator, Raji Samad Adetola, popularly known as Mr Sanku Comedy, has passed away following a fatal car accident.

The accident occurred in the early hours of Monday along the Oyo–Ogbomoso road in Ibadan. Images and videos shared online showed the vehicle veering into a ditch during the crash.

Sanku and a friend who was traveling with him were rushed to the hospital but were later pronounced dead.

Known for his unique storytelling style and comic skits, Sanku began his content creation journey in 2021 and quickly built a loyal fan base.

Reacting to the tragic news, Nollywood actress Funmi Awelewa revealed on Instagram that she had sent one of her students near Bowen Hospital to check on him after hearing of the accident. She said she was told he was responding to treatment at the time but, despite her prayers, he eventually passed away.
