Davido: I Nearly Quit Music Before Omah Lay Collab
Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, aka Davido, has revealed that he was on the verge of leaving the music industry shortly before the release of his chart-topping track “With You” featuring Omah Lay.
In a viral interview, the singer admitted he never expected the song to become the breakout hit of his latest album. According to him, its success rekindled his passion for music at a point when he was considering stepping back after over a decade in the spotlight.

“Some artists get that kind of song at the start of their careers, others in the middle. For me, 13–14 years in, I was even thinking of bowing out. Then God blessed me with this song. It added more life to my journey,” he said.
Davido described the timing of the hit as divine, stressing that it came just as he was preparing to slow down.
