Don Jazzy Explains Staying Single in His 40s
Mavin Records founder and veteran producer Don Jazzy has shared how his rise to the top of Nigeria’s music industry came with personal sacrifices — particularly in his marital life.
Speaking on the Echo Podcast, the 42-year-old said while he feels no regret about his career journey, one area he may have unconsciously let slip is marriage.
“I never thought I’d be in my 40s and not married. Maybe that’s the one I lost along the way. If it comes, it comes. If it doesn’t, I’m totally fine,” he admitted.
Don Jazzy, who has been instrumental in shaping the careers of stars such as Tiwa Savage, Rema, and Ayra Starr, added that music would still define his life even if he weren’t running a record label.

Despite the trade-offs, he stressed that he feels fulfilled and grateful for his impact on the Nigerian music scene.
