Drug abuse almost killed me – Odumodublvck

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has opened up about his past struggles with drug abuse and how he eventually overcame the addiction.

The “Pity The Boy” crooner revealed that his experimentation with drugs began while he was a student at the University of Lagos, where he nearly lost his life to an overdose.

Recalling the terrifying experience on the Tea With Tay podcast, Odumodublvck said he had to call his mother to book a flight back to Abuja as he battled the effects of the overdose. According to him, that incident became a turning point.

“I was a very bright student at UNILAG, but I got caught up in drugs. One day, I almost died from it. I called my mum to get me a ticket back to Abuja. After that, I only tried it once more before quitting completely,” he shared.

Expressing gratitude for his survival, the rapper noted that not everyone is fortunate enough to break free. He warned young people about the dangers of substance abuse, stressing that many lives have been lost to overdoses and addiction.

“I thank God because some people never make it out of that life. Some die, others take their own lives, and I’ve even seen a pregnant woman and her husband both struggling with addiction. It’s terrible,” he said.

Odumodublvck urged youths to avoid drugs entirely, emphasizing that the consequences can be devastating.
