Eniola Ajao Moves Against Blogger Over Viral Video
Nollywood actress Eniola Ajao has confirmed that a blogger has been arrested, prosecuted, and jailed for defamation and cyberbullying over a viral video from the burial of actor Odunlade Adekola’s father.
In August, a clip from the event in Otun Ekiti sparked controversy after it showed Ajao exchanging pleasantries with Adekola’s wife before appearing to hide. The footage fueled speculation online, with critics accusing the actress of having a romantic relationship with Adekola.
At the time, Ajao dismissed the claims as an attempt to tarnish her image.
Providing an update on Wednesday via Instagram, she announced that the blogger, identified as Adabasioni Oluwafemi Aseoro, had been convicted under Nigeria’s Cybercrime Act. She accused him of manipulating the video to push a false narrative.
“I can confirm the arrest and prosecution of a blogger, Adabasioni Oluwafemi Aseoro, for criminal defamation and cyberbullying. He manipulated the video to suit his narrative and make me a subject of ridicule. I chose to take legal action,” she wrote.

According to her, Aseoro was detained for two weeks at Ikoyi Prison before apologizing publicly and pleading with other bloggers to take down the video.
Ajao stressed that the case should serve as a warning to those who spread falsehoods for online clout.
