Family to Uche Ibeto: Mum’s Property Was Sold Legally
The family of veteran singer Uche Ibeto, popularly known as the Jigida Queen, has denied her claims that she was forcefully ejected from her late mother’s Lagos residence.
In a statement issued by the Administrator of the Estate of the late Mrs. Esther Ibeto, the family described the singer’s allegations as baseless and misleading.
According to the statement, the property in question was legally sold, and its new owner has already taken full possession. The family further emphasized that Uche Ibeto, who is the third child of the late Esther Ibeto, neither serves as the estate’s administrator nor holds sole ownership rights to the property.

The statement partly read:
“The attention of the Estate of Late Mrs. Esther Ibeto has been drawn to misleading publications recently circulated by Ms. Uche Ibeto, a dissatisfied beneficiary of the Estate. Her actions are aimed at deceiving the public and undermining the lawful administration of the Estate.
Ms. Uche Ibeto has no legal authority, title, or right to claim unilateral ownership or present herself as the sole owner of the property. Such actions constitute an unlawful attempt to usurp the powers of the Administrator.
For clarity, the property has already been sold, and the rightful buyer is in possession. Ms. Uche Ibeto’s allegations of eviction or document forgery are entirely false and without merit.”
