Independent women don’t obey men’ — Lord Lamba.

Comedian and skit creator Lord Lamba stirred up conversations on X after posting:

“If a woman can handle all her expenses without your support, she won’t take instructions from you.”

The statement quickly went viral, sparking a wave of mixed reactions.

One user countered: “Financial independence doesn’t erase the need for mutual respect. Being self-sufficient isn’t the same as being arrogant, and paying the bills shouldn’t be used as a weapon of control. Relationships are partnerships, not boss–worker arrangements.”

Another added: “When a woman truly loves you, she’ll naturally be caring and cooperative, regardless of whether she depends on you financially or not. For many women, it’s about love, not money.”

Still, not everyone agreed. Some women argued differently. One comment read: “Since I already cover my own bills, you need to bring more than just financial support if you want me to take you seriously.”

Another remarked: “That’s not about money—it’s about love. Successful women still yield to the men they genuinely care for. Don’t be deceived by the noise on social media.”
