Made Kuti Fires Back After Insult on Inter-Tribal Union

Afrobeat musician and multi-instrumentalist Made Kuti has addressed an online troll who mocked him for marrying an Igbo woman.

The user had shared his photo with a derogatory caption, attacking his decision and making ethnic slurs about his wife.

In his response, Made said he felt no anger toward the comment but rather pity, stressing that such views reflect ignorance and a lack of historical understanding.

He explained that Africa’s greatest leaders—including his grandfather, Fela Anikulapo Kuti—stood firmly for unity and collective progress, not tribal division.

Quoting his own words, Made wrote:

He added that he chose to speak publicly because he had been noticing similar divisive posts for some time and felt it necessary to push back against them.

The post has since sparked discussions online, with many commending him for promoting unity and enlightenment in the face of hate speech.
