Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 goes to Onyinyechi Basil
Onyinyechi Basil, representing Anambra State, has emerged as Miss Universe Nigeria 2025.
The 25-year-old beauty queen was announced winner of the national pageant during its grand finale on Saturday evening in Lagos State, beating 21 other contestants to clinch the crown. She succeeds Chidimma Adetishina, the 2024 titleholder.
In her first remarks after being crowned, Basil said:
“I want young girls to know that they can achieve more, and still celebrate their cultural identity.”
With her victory, Basil will go on to represent Nigeria at the global Miss Universe 2025 competition.

Other winners on the night included Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde (first runner-up), Miss Bayelsa, Fortune Kurobo (second runner-up), and Miss Ogun, Irene Ikediashi (third runner-up).
