Omah Lay Says Nigerian Music Scene Is Getting Boring
Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has stirred conversations online after declaring that the country’s music scene is becoming “boring.”
Taking to Snapchat, the “Soso” crooner didn’t hold back his thoughts. He hinted that he’s ready to shake things up, promising fans that something fresh is on the way.
He wrote: “Una music industry is boring AF! Spirit is coming to f**k up the continent in a bit.”
Omah Lay’s comment comes shortly after singer Slimcase voiced a similar concern. Slimcase had urged Afrobeats artists to slow down on their frequent releases, arguing that the oversaturation of music is draining the excitement from the genre.

According to him, the nonstop drop of singles and albums is gradually “killing” Afrobeats, and artistes should take breaks to build anticipation for their work.
