Police nab two over attack on Lil Kesh in Kano
The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two prime suspects linked to the brutal attack on Nigerian rapper, Keshinro Ololade, popularly known as Lil Kesh.
The suspects, identified as Mathew Adewole (25) and Mukhtar Muhammad (31), were apprehended on September 11, 2025, at Na’ibawa Quarters in Kano after weeks of intelligence-led operations.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna, Adewole confessed to storming Lil Kesh’s residence at Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos, on August 19, 2025. The rapper sustained a deep neck wound in what police described as an attempted murder.
Investigations revealed that during the attack, Adewole compelled Lil Kesh to transfer ₦2.12 million into Muhammad’s bank account before fleeing.
“The Kano State Police Command has achieved a significant breakthrough in this case of armed robbery and attempted murder, thanks to robust intelligence and community collaboration,” Haruna stated.

The suspects have been transferred to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.
Meanwhile, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, Kano Commissioner of Police, commended operatives for their swift action and appreciated public support in tackling violent crime.
