Tiwa Savage urges humility among Afrobeats stars
Afrobeats queen, Tiwa Savage, has advised her colleagues in the music industry to remain grounded despite fame and fortune, stressing that they are only ambassadors of the movement.
Speaking in a recent interview with Hot 97 FM, New York, Savage warned that success should not breed arrogance, as God can easily replace anyone.
“We are just ambassadors, just the faces of Afrobeats. We can’t let it get into our heads because we are just vessels and there can be somebody else. God can take it away like that,” she said.
The singer further noted that falling from grace is far worse than never experiencing fame at all.

“Imagine coming this far and then falling. That is worse than not ever tasting fame. I’d rather have never seen than see and lose my sight,” she added.
Savage also expressed admiration for some of her peers, describing Ayra Starr as a more confident version of herself, praising Tems for her air of mystery, and hailing Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz for putting his community on the global map.
