Wumi Toriola slams Afeez Owo over Mide Martins comparison
Nollywood actress, Wumi Toriola, has fired back at veteran director Afeez Owo after he compared her personality to that of his wife, actress Mide Martins, during a recent podcast appearance.
Speaking on the African A-List podcast, Afeez drew a contrast between the two actresses, claiming that while Mide’s movie roles are very different from her real-life character, Wumi’s on-screen persona reflects her actual temperament.
“Mide’s character in movies is totally different from who she is in real life, but Wumi’s film roles are close to her real personality. Violence is her comfort zone. Wumi will always react when provoked, while Mide would stay calm even if you offend her,” Afeez said.
The remarks did not sit well with Wumi, who took to Instagram—before later deleting the video—to express her displeasure.

Describing Afeez’s comments as “rubbish,” she said:
“Must every rift be dragged to podcasts? They handed you a microphone, and you started saying nonsense. After they entertained you with pepper soup, you began blabbing.
Am I a mad woman? If people don’t offend me, why would I be angry? I’ve never disrespected you, and I still regard you despite your unfortunate behavior.”
